Guys let’s face it, shaving nicks are the worst! No one likes them and they take away tons of time when you’re trying to head out the door, So here’s a trick I use whenever i’m in this very bad situation.
Items needed: Cube of ice (1); alum block / or stick; styptic powder
- Step 1: Apply the ice cube to the nicked area for at least 15 seconds. (This slows down the bleeding.)
- Step 2: Apply a wet (run under cool water for a 1 sec.) alum block (or stick) to the affected area in a circular motion for at least 30 seconds. — If 90% of the bleeding has not stopped continue for another 15-30 seconds.
- Step 3: Once 90% of the bleeding has stopped, dry the area with a towel or wash rag. Then immediately apply a pinch of styptic powder to the affected area. Allow the nick to absorb the powder and dust off the remaining powder.
That’s it. Fixing a shaving nick in under a minute!
